History
The St. Nikolaus Gut Hirt Zug association has existed since 1995 and grew out of the Quartierverein Gut Hirt (neighbourhood association), which had already been organising Samichlaus visits since 1982.
More than 25 volunteer members give their time to keep this cherished tradition alive.
Purpose
The Samichlaus visits and the rental of the Samichlaus and Schmutzli costumes cover the costs of running the association as well as purchasing and cleaning the costumes.
Each year the association donates its surplus to non-profit, charitable institutions – above all organisations for children and people with disabilities. Wherever possible, we deliver these donations in person.
